Appetite for Art is a fundraiser that benefits the Boys and Girls Clubs of Wake Country, NC. I was very lucky to be able to be involved, as the Chair of the Fashion Auction, at this years gala. In years past the event has consisted of a live auction, silent auction, fashion show, and more. This year, I thought it would be fun to scrap the fashion show and have actual live models stationed on pedestals and mingling in the crowd. With the help of Models for Charity, six local designers (including Ahpeele, Kristen Martinez, Revamp, myself and more) and many volunteers, we were able to make the event a great success!
I seriously support community outreach, especially for the benefit of kids. I am so lucky to have 3 little people in my life; god-kids/favorite little people. It is always such a shock to me to see how much they absorb from the adults who surround them. When I see them they are still laughing about silliness from the last time I saw them. If these guys are remembering little comments from visits past, they're remembering everything else, too. It truly is worth the time to have a 'little brother' or 'little sister' and to volunteer with local children's organizations.
