Last night I went to support my friend Ann Marie Kennedy in her group show opening at the Block Gallery in downtown Raleigh. As usual, the stars aligned, and her work completely inspired me. I'm currently working on a commission wedding blouse made from my client Jaclyn's grandmothers lace and crochet decorative pieces. Ann Marie's pieces were a beautiful combination of textile, fibrous paper, lace, leaves and more. When I think about the piece I'm making for Jaclyn, I picture similar materials.
